Calgary's Junior Idol 2009
Who Will Be Calgary’s Next Junior Idol?
Prepare to be WOWed by Calgary’s own talented youth. The 2009 Calgary’s Junior Idol (CJI) Singing Competition wraps up on Saturday, November 7th at CrossIron Mills. Come on out to The Happy Trails Food Court at 2:30 pm and 4:00 pm to watch our twelve CJI finalists take the stage and compete for the title of Calgary’s Junior Idol and prizes valued at over $2000.
Now in it’s 7th season, Calgary’s Junior Idol is a competitive performance event open to all singing kids between the ages of 6 and 17. This competition begins 6 weeks in advance with a maximum of 200 contestants. Throughout each stage of quarter-final auditions, callbacks, and semi-final competitions, contestants are evaluated by a panel of local judges and only a percentage are selected to compete in the next round. The finals competition at CrossIron Mills will award two winners: one under the age of 12 (at the 2:30 show) and one between the ages of 12 and 17 (at the 4:00 show).
